Professor Laud joined the Division of Biostatistics in the spring of 1994. He was previously Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Division of Statistics at Northern Illinois University.

Professor Laud has published numerous papers in the statistical literature including in the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B, the Annals of Statistics and other leading journals. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Nonparametric Statistics. He is a member of the American Statistical Association, the International Society for Bayesian Analysis and the International Biometric Society (ENAR).

Professor Laud's areas of specialization are Bayesian statistics, linear and generalized linear models, modern parametric and nonparametric Bayesian methods and Monte Carlo methods. He has general expertise in Bayesian analysis and decision theory.
