More about the Program
- Degree Requirements consist of required and elective courses,
passing the Preliminary Examination and the Qualifying Examination and
successfully defending an original dissertation in Biostatistics.
- Typical Sequence of Courses. Students are expected to complete
coursework in the first three years with the sequence depending, to some
extent,
on year of admission.
- Course Descriptions. The program offers over 20 different courses
in the theory and methods of Biostatistics, from the beginning graduate level
to advanced levels.
- Graduate Student Handbook, designed mainly of students enrolled in
the program, contains all requirements and information about related issues
such as timing of various events, formation of committees, choosing the
dissertation advisor, etc.
- Current Students in the program come from diverse backgrounds and
are at various levels of advancement towards completing the program.
- Alumni of the program have been successful in finding employment
immediately after graduation, with positions in academia, government and
industry.
