Financial Support

All admitted full time students are awarded year-round Fellowships for the first 18 months. The yearly stipend for 2005-2006 academic year is $22,973.00. During this period, students have no other duties other than full time pursuit of their graduate education. They are expected to enroll for 12 credit hours per semester in the Fall and Spring, and 9 in the Summer. In addition to this stipend, students receive tuition waiver as well as medical and vision care insurance.

Beyond this fellowship award period, financial support is provided - for up to three and a half years - via Research Assistantships. Student duties during this period consist of working on research projects, typically collaborations with medical researchers, 20 hours per week. Course load during this period is reduced to 9 hours each in the Fall and Spring, 6 hours in the Summer. Stipend amount and other benefits are the same as described above for the Fellowship award.

Part time students are not eligible for financial support from the College.
